'Diavoli Rossi' travels to Vilnius, Lithuania. May 21st 2016.  As its part of the Tornado display I am very happy to say one of the Italian 'Diavoli Rossi' F84F Thunderstreaks got a 1st place at the Vilnius Model show.
This Show is held at Peterborough Town Hall and our "Southern Sector" SIG members Ollie and Nigel manned the display .....and it was a very well presented one at that ! As well as some plastic Tornado there was also some real bits of Tornado on the display table courtesy of Nigel. Ollie managed to get a Commended for his Black Panther Italeri Tonka and Nigel bagged a years subs to Airfix Model World ! The SIG Tonka Twins , Andy MkII and Nathan clocked up the miles and headed down to sunny Torquay to attend the Torbay Military Modelling Society's' model show. The SIG had a very successful show and picked up 3 certificates ......2 from the Competition tables and another for Second Best club display ! Nice one !! Thanks to Andy and Nathan for flying the flag and also thanks to Paul for inviting us to the Show.....Ive already been told Im being kidnapped by Andy MkII next year on the Show weekend so that I can attend ...!! Here are a few photos of the show..... Our second show of the year at this very popular venue ....hence the limited table space packed with as much as we could fit on ! The fluorescent lighting plays havoc with the cameras settings so apologies for the orange tinge.......I only took two photos all day ....these are thanks to Andy MkII Buzz973. A special big thanks to Trevor Snowden for bringing his collection of Airfix Tornados and for his time behind the tables . Cheers ! One of our members , Tango Fox , became a class medal winner with his Revell 1/144 Tornado GR1 in Gulf War colours.
