Scale Model World saw us bring two displays to our table. A Wingman Decals themed Luftwaffe Tornado display and a Gulf War 25th Anniversary display.
the Gulf War display has been on tour since the Bolton model show and it made it's last appearance at SMW. The Wingman Decals display made it debut and was well received. The display was based on WND48006 Luftwaffe Tornados Part 1 - The Tornado IDS/ECR in Norm 95 and Single-Grey Camouflage. We look forward to following it with the Part 2 decal set (early Luftwaffe schemes) which is expected to be released over the next twelve months.
Here are some pictures of the display and a short video.
There were several models on display elsewhere. A special mention must go to Abingdon who had a stunning 617 Sqn build on their table and Bridlington & Wolds who had four of Gulf themed builds built by SIG member Trevor Snowden.
Held at the International Centre in Telford over the 7th to the 8th on November. This show saw the debut of Andy Hay Hardwick's special Diavoli Rossi Display. We had many visitors to the table over the weekend including a special visit from IPMS (Italy) Centro Di Milano. The table also paid tribute to the late Steve Hague, a great friend to the SIG who would almost certainly have made a visit to our table. I think he would like the idea of a Harrier taking over the Tornado's table. To give an idea of the whole show, here are some pictures that give an idea of what the greatest model show on earth was like. And finally, it was nice to see the Tornado well represented on other tables.
A Tornado featured in one of Phil Flory's instructional videos was a guest on out table, along with a piece of flight crew equipment. There were several Tornados in the competition room, including an interesting what if.
