Weathering - GR4 Panel Colour Variation

With a long service life and replacement parts, many of the RAF's Tornado GR4s have replacement panels giving a patchwork quilt appearance.

In the image above, the airbrake and panel just aft of the radome appear much lighter the the remainder of the airframe. The image below is much more subtle, with variations on the starboard intake (lowest in this picture) and in panels between the wing roots. These panels have a blue tint to them and this could be replicated by switching between Tamiya and Xtracrylics Medium Sea Greys.

On the 617 squadron anniversary aircraft (above) there is a stark contrast between panels along the spine. The XV squadron Tornado below is perhaps the most extreme example of the patchwork effect.
