Gulf War Special Display 2016-2017

​2016 marks the 25th anniversary of the first Gulf War. The Tornado SIG put on a special display at the Bolton Model show almost to the hour that air attacks were launched by RAF Tornado GR1s. The SIG continue to mark the anniversary that has come to define the Tornado with a special display at shows this year culminating at this years IPMS SMW. Along side the display, a collection of materials will be added to a dedicated section of the site. 

The first addition to this part of the site is a collection of previously unpublished photograph that look at the often overlooked role of the Tornado F3 in the first gulf war. For fans of the Saudi IDS, there is also a rare treat: a photograph of a Saudi Tornado....in Saudi Arabia!

The Gulf War display debuted at the Bolton Show, almost to the minute that RAF GR.1s launched their first strikes over Iraq. The display is evolving throughout the year and will make is final appearance at this year's Scale Model World in Telford.
