Ollie and Nigel ( eventually ...lol !! ) put on a display at this years show which is held in St Ives. Ollie's latest builds...a Gulf war trio where on display for the first time. Nice pair of P0's at the front too.
Big thanks to Nigel and Andy Mk2 for putting on a display at the show in Spalding. Looks like it was a good one !
Ollie flew the flag for the SIG at the show that is run by the S.c.m.m.s and this year was held at a new venue , the Ramada hotel which turned out to be a very good venue . Heres Ollies take on the day.... ""Well i forgot to take a photo of the display before we where half packed up. Luckily i had help from a friend of mine manning the table as i did spend a fair amount of time wandering around chatting. We had 6ft double depth which actually was a nice size space and we managed to put on a good display. We had lots of interest and a few people hopefully will join the SIG. I think the new venue made a big difference to the show, it was a steady steam throughout the show rather than the normal initial rush and it all goes quit by lunch time which was nice to see. Parking was really easy which is a plus and finding the venue was simple. I must send on my thanks to the Host Club and they have already said we will be back next year as we are on the list already."" Wot No pictures !! He was too busy after all those bargains ...lol !! Tom Weir from ATF managed to get a passing photo for us ....sorry its a bit blurry . And yet again the boys from the Brid and Wolds Model Club have put on another excellent show ! This year the main display area was held in a very large and airy marquee (even carpeted...very posh ! ) There were two other display areas which all together made for a bigger show than previous years. It is likely that next years show will be held in the new purpose built display hall that is under construction. This show just gets better and better ....roll on next year !! The 4 spacious tables were manned by Nathan , Andy Mk2 (who had LITERALLY stepped off a plane from Lithuania and picked up some lads from the Scunthorpe Club and then drove here....total hours of sleep - 0 ,Zero ,Zilch , Nowt , Nothing !) and myself (Mk1). We had company from IPMS Cleveland and just along from us were the lads from AMSIG (Airfix Modelling SIG) .Big thanks to Tom for loaning us his Revell H.A.S display . We had a few new builds on the table .....Nathans big 32nd scale Norm 83 Luftwaffe kite and his new tool Revell Italian IDS . I had the ASSTA 3 demo to add. All in all a most enjoyable day and for IPMS Cleveland quite a haul in the model competition, 6 rosettes and the best 1/72 WW2 aircraft in show. Some shots of the IPMS Cleveland and IDF SIG tables
